Denali National Park and Preserve is an environment of extreme temperatures, tall mountains, glacial landscapes, and more. The climate and landscape of Denali might be very different from where you live. Do you wish you could bring your class to Denali? If we're far from you, take part in the next best thing by bringing Denali to your classroom!

The Education staff at the Murie Science and Learning Center (MSLC) at Denali National Park and Preserve have created free, interactive classroom presentations that you and your students can participate in using Skype on the internet. If you would like to use the Denali experience to enhance your curriculum, please see our offerings below. Once you have selected a program, fill out a registration form to schedule your group(s). Our programs are designed to meet national teaching standards and are appropriate for students in grades 3 - 6.

The Science of Sled Dogs
Grades 3-5
50-60 min.
Students explore adaptations that make Denali's sled dogs well-suited to living and working in subarctic winter conditions.

Denali: The High One
(Geology of the Mountain)
Grades 4-6
50-60 min.
Students explore the dynamic geologic processes that have created the tallest mountain in North America.

HOW TO REGISTER:
Registration begins October 15, 2012. Spaces are limited and registration is handled on a first-come, first-served basis. Download a registration form.

Complete the form and send it back to us by email (preferable), fax or mail.

SCHEDULE FOR FALL 2012 SCHOOL YEAR:
Programs are available Monday - Friday from November 12-December 14, 2012.
Note: Please be aware that Alaska is in the Alaska Time Zone and follows daylight savings time changes. Programs cannot start any earlier than 9 a.m. in the Alaska Time Zone, which means programs for schools in Eastern Time cannot start before 1 p.m., Central Time 12 noon, Mountain Time 11 a.m., and Pacific Time 10 a.m. Please consider this when listing your available times on the registration form.
