Fire Management staff at Denali National Park and Preserve are planning to burn debris consisting of trees and brush between Monday, January 26 and Friday, February 6, weather conditions permitting. The single pile is located east of the park airstrip and west of the northernmost loop of the Riley Creek Campground.

The material being burned is from fuels management projects (fire protection) around park buildings and other park infrastructure. Smoke may be visible in the surrounding area from the Parks Highway and from aircraft

NPS Fire Management staff will be monitoring the burning on site. The pile is expected to burn for three to four days.

Additional park information can be obtained by calling 907-683-9532 from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm daily
