Last week, the contractor completed erection of the 9th bay (L2–L1), shifted the erection crane and crane mats west, and began erection of the final main truss bay (L1–L0). They also began moving the steel pieces for the launch truss into the park and staging them at the mile 44 staging area.
In addition to completing the final bay this week, they will begin assembling some of the launch truss pieces and moving them to the construction site, in preparation for final assembly.
The launch truss is smaller than the main truss and will be built inside of it. Check out this post from February 2024 that illustrates how the launch truss (also known as the launching nose) will be used to move the permanent truss to the west side of the slide.
