In May, the contractor returned to the Pretty Rocks construction site for their final season of work. They completed the deck panel and guardrail installation across the bridge during the first few weeks. They are now welding in place the precast walls at the west abutment.

At the perlite slide near the east abutment, the contractor has also begun work on a gabion wall structure. The gabion wall is a type of retaining wall contructed out of metal cages filled with rocks.

A row of wire cages filled with rocks sits along the shoulder of the road at the base of a steep slope. Behind the constructino site, the Pretty Rocks bridge is visible. The first layer of the gabion wall.
