*Please note that in-park housing is not available for the summer of 2021.
Partial reimbursement for outside lodgeing may be avalible.

AiR Roles and Responsibilities::
  • At least one demonstration or program for the public on their medium, and;
  • One work of art (or high-resolution copy) donated to the park.
In addition to the standard AiR position, this year we are also recruiting for Art Teachers in Residence:

Art Teachers in Residence (ATiR)
Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve is offering an exciting new program, partially funded by a National Park Foundation Grant, for an art educator to join us for a residency during Late Spring - Summer 2021. Art-Teachers-in-Residence is an opportunity for artists to develop works of art based on Craters of the Moon, practice their craft in a one-of-a-kind place, and share their love of art to K-12 students in a virtual format.

Applicants may apply for both AiR and ATiR; please indicate if you are applying for both in your email.

Requirements:
  • Artists and Art Teachers in the visual arts such as painting, drawing, sculptures, crafts and other mediums are encouraged to apply.
  • Formal or informal art teaching experience is recommended but not required.
  • ATiR residency will run between Late Spring – Summer 2021.
  • Residences generally run 2-4 weeks, flexible.
ATiR Roles and Responsibilities:
  • One work of art or a high-resolution copy of an art piece donated to the park upon completion of the program.
  • Produce at least two short educational videos for K-12 students with park education staff support. These videos can range from how-to videos to artist interviews of their work.
  • Attend the Craters of the Moon Educator Focus Group meeting during Summer 2021.
How to Apply

Applications are accepted by email throughout the year but submissions for the coming season are due by February 15. Please include the following:
  • Copy and paste the following form into an e-mail or word document along with a brief resume.
  • A maximum of five artwork samples may be attached/included. If more than five are submitted, only the first five will be considered. Do not send originals; samples will not be returned.
  • Please indicate which AiR program you are applying to.
