Junior Ranger

The Junior Ranger program is an activity-based program conducted in national parks across the country. There are currently two ways to become a Junior Ranger at Crater Lake:

Junior Ranger Badge

Junior Ranger Activity Book

Are you between 6 and 12 years old, or a kid at heart? You can earn a Junior Ranger badge by completing at least 7 pages of the park's Junior Ranger Activity Book [3.1 MB PDF]. The books are available free of charge in the park, year-round (or you can download and print a copy from home to get a jump-start).

While the book was designed to accompany a park visit, touring the park is not a requirement. If you are not able to visit the park, email a scanned or photographed copy of your completed book to craterlake@nps.gov. Be sure to let us know your mailing address and we'll send you an official patch.
