Colorado National Monument is offering several special programs during April.

  • This April, we celebrate the 85th anniversary of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). Join us for a special ranger program about the CCC on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at the Visitor Center from 2:00-3:00 pm. See historic photos and discover the role the CCC played in providing access to Colorado National Monument. Program is free, regular entrance fees apply.
  • Friday, April 13, 2018 – Find Your Park After Dark! Come and view the night sky through the Western Colorado Astronomy Club (WCAC) member’s large telescopes at Colorado National Monument Saddlehorn Picnic Area. Meet in the picnic parking lot just after sunset. The viewing will start at dusk, weather permitting. WCAC members will help guests view planets, galaxies, star forming nebulae and clusters. Program is free, regular entrance fees apply.
  • April 21, 2018 – The monument is celebrating the Fee Free Day with a Junior Ranger Day Bio-Blitz. Join park rangers and volunteers at the Saddlehorn Visitor Center and the Saddlehorn Picnic Area from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to explore biodiversity at the monument. Staff invite families to use the free iNaturalist app on their mobile devices to record their findings and see what others discover.

Spring hours are now in effect at Colorado National Monument. The visitor center is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily. For additional information please visit www.nps.gov/colm or call 970-858-3617, ext. 360.
