Road repairs and center line-striping on Rim Rock Drive in Colorado National Monument will slightly delay traffic intermittently between May 27 and July 1.
Road Repairs
- Road crews will be working on road structure and drainage improvements along Rim Rock Drive between Redlands View on the West Hill to the Red Canyon Overlook. Visitors are advised to expect delays and temporary lane closures on Rim Rock Drive from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. Repairs are scheduled to begin on May 27 and be completed by July 1. Motorists and bicyclists are encouraged to plan ahead and schedule extra time for their travel through Colorado National Monument during this 5-week period.
Road Striping, June 2-3
- A road crew will conduct road restriping on a 4-mile stretch of Rim Rock Drive between the east entrance and the DS Road. To avoid these traffic delays, Glade Park residents and bicyclists are advised to use Little Park Road on both days. These road projects are being undertaken to improve safety for motorists and cyclists as well as to provide necessary maintenance for heavily traveled Rim Rock Drive. Every effort will be made to minimize inconveniences to visitors.
