Colorado National Monument and Colorado National Monument Association are thrilled to announce the first annual Plein Air Event, October 3-7, 2017. During this week we have invited over 20 artists to come and paint the beautiful scenery of Colorado National Monument. Plein Air is a style of painting developed in mid-19th century France in which the artwork is created outside. Artists will be painting in and around the monument starting Tuesday, October 3rd, until noon on Friday October 6th. Come visit the monument and watch as artists create stunning works of art. The art will be displayed at the visitor center and available for purchase. Part of the proceeds will go to Colorado National Monument Association which supports educational programs and research projects at the monument. Regular monument entrance fees apply.
