Colorado National Monument will Reopen The Upper Section of Rim Rock Drive at 1:00 p.m. Today
Sunday, January 22, 2012 at 1 p.m., Colorado National Monument will reopen the upper section of Rim Rock Drive from DS Road to Independence Monument Overlook to all traffic. Earlier today, the Upper Section of Rim Rock Drive was plowed, sanded, and cleared of snow. Please use caution. Expect winter driving conditions with some patches of snow and black ice. During the winter months be prepared to encounter ice and snow conditions at any time and in any location on Rim Rock Drive even when roads in the valley are clear. Be especially alert for ice on the switchbacks on both the east and west hills of Rim Rock Drive. Information on future developing storms and temporary road closures can be found by calling |
