Micro-surfacing along Rim Rock Drive will start on Tuesday, September 28 and take place between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The project will start at the East Entrance Station and progress toward the West Entrance Station (gate-to-gate.) Park visitors and Glade Park residents and can expect 10-15 minute delays through the road construction work zones. There may be multiple areas of work occurring at the same time, and in that case the combined delay time will not exceed 30 minutes. Motorcyclists and bicyclists should expect rough road conditions throughout the duration of this project. Bicyclists are reminded that they must obey all flagging stops in the work zones. Road surfaces will be rough and may have slick areas as well. Schedule for the Week: Glade Park residents are advised to use Little Park Road for morning commutes on Tuesday and Wednesday to avoid these traffic delays. The National Park Service, Federal Highway Administration, contractors and subcontractors are all committed to minimizing impacts to visitors and community members. We ask for the public’s understanding and patience while the road work is ongoing. Please note: Weather, logistics and mechanical failure sometimes may delay work on the project and/or change plans on short notice. The public is invited to visit the park’s website regularly at www.nps.gov/colm for the latest updates and changes or call the park offices at 970-858-3617 ext. 300.Thank you for your patience. If things stay on schedule the project should be completed by mid-October.
