Call to Artists Colorado National Monument Announces the Art Exhibit of the Century Colorado National Monument and the Grand Junction Commission on Arts and Culture invite artists to submit artwork for the "Art Exhibit of the Century". The winning artwork will be on displayed at the Grand Junction City Hall and the Mesa County Buildings from January 5 through June 30, 2011. Original artwork may be photography, 2-D paintings and drawings in oil, acrylic, watercolor, chalk, and pencil. Subject matter is limited to works portraying the landscape, environment, and wildlife of Colorado National Monument. Art pieces must be no larger than 36" x 36" or weigh more than 25 pounds, framed. While artists may enter up to three pieces for consideration, individual artists will have only one item selected for display. Up to 75 entries will be accepted and twenty pieces will be selected to be on exhibit for 6 months. Artists whose work has been selected for exhibition will be contacted by December 21, 2010. Jurors will determine Best of Show, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Prize winners. Prizes include:
To enter, artists are required to submit a photograph of the piece/s no larger than 8 ½" x 11" and a completed registration packet by Dec. 7, 2010.
