VIRTUAL PROGRAMMINGThe staff of the Clara Barton National Historic Site is offering a free one hour virtual program for elementary and middle school students on the fascinating story of the Angel of the Battlefield, Clara Barton's life and work. At the end of this illustrated talk with a park ranger students will be able to describe how Clara Barton went from being a shy girl on a farm to a school teacher to the founding the first public school in New Jersey. Clara Barton then went on to be a heroine of the Civil War and the founder of the American Red Cross. Please contact a park ranger to reserve a time for this program for your class by calling 703-289-2500 or emailing kevin_patti@nps.gov. |
