Public House Tours Dates: Select weekend days in November & December, 2014 Charles Young Buffalo Soldiers National Monument proudly announces the upcoming schedule of open house dates for select weekend days through the rest of the calendar year. Remaining dates are as follows: DECEMBER: 21st Open house hours are from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm on the dates listed above. It is highly recommended that those who wish to visit on the open dates call or email to make reservations. While the park will make every effort to ensure the availability of the house to be open on the listed days, tour dates and times are subject to change and/or cancellation. Any changes to tour dates/times will be posted on the park's website and social media pages. Please call 937-366-9524 to make a reservation or send your reservation request electronically. Be sure to leave a return email address so a confirmation can be sent. "Youngsholm" is located at 1120 U.S. Route 42 East, approximately 3 miles east of Xenia and less than 1 mile west of Wilberforce and Central State Universities. Charles Young purchased the house located at 1120 U.S. Route 42 East, with his wife Ada in 1907 and affectionately nicknamed it "Youngsholm." The house would become the social hub of the Wilberforce University area for many years as notable African Americans, family, friends and strangers would often gather there to enjoy the Young family hospitality. |
