Celebrate a Centennial of Campfires at the C&O Canal Great Falls Tavern

Potomac, Md. - Evening programs are a proud tradition in our National Parks dating back to the first ranger programs.As we celebrate the National Park Service Centennial year, please join the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal (C&O Canal) National Historical Park to commemorate a century of campfire programs with the National Park Service. Sing songs and listen to stories from across America’s National Parks as well as night-time themed canal stories! Campfires will take place at the C&O Canal’s Great Falls Tavern Visitor Center, 11710 MacArthur Blvd. Potomac, Maryland. Programs will be held on the following dates: Saturday July 16 from 8:00-9:00pm; Friday, August 12 from 8:00-9:00pm, and Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 7:30pm-8:30pm. This event is free and open to the public. Feel free to bring your own favorite makings for s’mores, some folding chairs and enjoy an enchanting campfire along the canal. The programs are designed as fun for all ages.

The Great Falls Tavern historic area has a entrance fee of $10 per vehicle. Mule-Drawn Canal boat rides are also offered Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 11am, 1:30pm and 3pm. Prices: $8.00 for adults (ages 16-61), $6.00 for seniors (ages 62 +), and $5.00 for children (ages 4-15). Children aged three and under ride free.
