News Release Date: August 1, 2017 Each workshop includes a 2 1/2-hour training on our curriculum-aligned park programs and classroom extension materials. Participating teachers will receive a $200 stipend and are guaranteed bus funding in the 2017-18 school year to visit the park with their class. Teachers may choose to sign up for either session; however, space is limited to 10 teachers per session and reservations are first come, first serve. If you are interested in signing up for the workshop please email cocanaleducation@nps.gov. The C&O Canal has collaborated with local teachers to develop park education programs. Each program includes pre and post visit materials, a STEM activity and support national and state learning standards.
