Williamsport, Md. – Attention West Virginia 4th Grade Teachers! If you are interested in bringing your students to the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park (C&O Canal), we invite you to attend our teacher workshop Wednesday, August 16th in Williamsport, Maryland to learn about curriculum programs offered to students during the school year. Two workshop sessions will be held: 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Each workshop includes a 2 1/2-hour training on our curriculum-aligned park programs and classroom extension materials. Participating teachers will receive a $200 stipend and are guaranteed bus funding in the 2017-18 school year to visit the park with their class. Teachers may choose to sign up for either session; however, space is limited to 10 teachers per session and reservations are first come, first serve. If you are interested in signing up for the workshop please email cocanaleducation@nps.gov.

The C&O Canal has collaborated with local teachers to develop park education programs.
