Fort Oglethorpe, GA: Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park invites the public to attend the fourth local event in 2016 to celebrate the Centennial anniversary of the National Park Service. Teams from the Tennessee Association of Vintage Base Ball will play a special doubleheader in the Recreation Field at Chickamauga Battlefield on Saturday, August 27 at 12 pm and at 2:30 pm. Please follow the "Special Event" signs to the Recreation Field and for designated parking.

Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, the Tennessee Association of Vintage Base Ball, and the 6th Cavalry Museum have partnered in order to bring vintage base ball to Chickamauga Battlefield!. Visitors can bring a lawn chair, a blanket, a picnic lunch (or purchase lunch from a vendor on-site) and step back in time to the 1860s to watch America's national pastime as it was originally played. Kids will have opportunities to participate in other vintage games from the 1860s as well. The base ball games are scheduled as follows:

·12 pm (Noon): Highland Rim Distillers vs. Mountain City of Chattanooga

·2:30 pm: Phoenix of East Nashville vs. Lightfoot of Chattanooga

We hope to see you soon, immersed in history and cheering on your favorite team. This event would not have been possible without the generous support from Friends of the Park and Eastern National.
