Fort Oglethorpe, GA: Eastern National, a partner to the National Park Service, would like to invite you to meet author David G. Moore Saturday, August 22 and Sunday, August 23, 2015, inside the Chickamauga Battlefield Visitor Center .Moore will be available to sign his book, William S. Rosecrans and the Union Victory beginning at 10 am. At 1 pm, Moore will provide a special presentation focusing on Rosecrans' actions at the Battle of Chickamauga as well as events before and after the battle. William S. Rosecrans and the Union Victory is the first biography of Union General William S. Rosecrans in more than fifty years.David G. Moore tells the story of General Rosecrans' military success in four theaters of war: West Virginia, Northern Mississippi, Tennessee, and Missouri. He explains why Rosecrans was removed from command four times despite his military successes and examines the important role that politics played in the Civil War.Moore also explores the relationship between Rosecrans and Ulysses S.
