SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — The paving repair project at Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area (CRNRA) is progressing to the next park unit, Interstate North, on Monday, March 18, 2024. This project is repairing the parking lots at four popular park units and address critical maintenance needs, safety concerns, and will result in temporary closures at each unit during the construction work.

Please visit Cochran Shoals at Sope Creek or Columns Drive for the next few weeks. There will be np pedestrian or bicycle entrance to this unit from Interstate North Parkway or connection to the trail system in Cumberland Community Improvement District. Thank you for your patience as we improve our parking lots.
Akers Mill was the first unit to be repaved and Powers Island unit parking lot will reopen tomorrow, March 16th. The remaining paving project is the Columns Drive parking lot.
The repair and repaving of the entry road and parking lots within CRNRA will correct sub-surface and water control issues.
