Sandy Springs, GA — Beginning November 13, 2019 online pass sales will be available through Recreation.Gov for those visitors wishing to visit Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area (CRNRA). Recreation.Gov will carry CRNRA Daily and Annual Passes as well as America the Beautiful interagency annual passes. Recreation.Gov is a reservation system utilized by many federal sites for pass sales, camping permits, special tours and tickets, and other recreational activities. Visitors have the option to purchase an online digital pass or to purchase a hard-copy pass at the Island Ford Visitor Center in Sandy Springs.
The types of online passes available are as follows:
- The cost of a CRNRA Daily Pass is $5. If purchasing this pass online, you have the ability to pick the date you plan to enter the park.
- The cost of a CRNRA Annual Pass is $40 and is valid for 12 months from the time of purchase.
- The America the Beautiful interagency pass is an $80 annual pass, valid for 12 months from the time of purchase, and is applicable at all federal entities across the county that charge an entrance fee including the U.S. Forest Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
The Chattahoochee River National Recreation fee program has been in place for over twenty years. Pass purchase options include online purchase through Recreation.Gov, purchase from an automated fee machine, and purchase in the Island Ford Visitor Center at 1978 Island Ford Parkway, Sandy Springs, GA 30350.
Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area staff will conduct compliance checks at all of its parking lots at various times throughout the day and evening. Park staff will check for hard copy passes on dashboards of cars (for those with physical passes) or for valid vehicle license plate numbers registered on Recreation.Gov for visitors completing online pass purchases.
