Chamizal National Memorial Announces Free Workshops for Upcoming Open Permit Application Period

Chamizal National Memorial is pleased to announce free informational workshops for applicants who want to use park facilities such as the theater for events and performances. These workshops are also in preparation for the open call for proposals and applications for Special Use Permits and Commercial Use Authorizations for the January - June, 2013 booking period. According to Superintendent Catherine Light, "All applicants are required to attend one of these free workshops every two years to learn about the park's policies and procedures. However, there have been several changes implemented in the past several months, so it is important that all user groups and potential applicants attend one of these upcoming workshops if they did not participate in those held last December."

Two workshops are scheduled for Wednesday, March 28, from 6-8:30 p.m. and Saturday, March 31, from 2-4:30 p.m. In order to prepare enough packets for each participant, the park respectfully requests that those planning to attend RSVP by Tuesday, March 27 by calling Chief of Interpretation, Education, and the Arts Anne Doherty-Stephan at (915) 532-7273 ext. 124.
