Contact: Visitor Information, 915-532-7273 x126 Superintendent F. Gus Sánchez is pleased to announce the arrival of Mini-DIGIE to Chamizal National Memorial. It will be located in the Memorial's Cultural Center and available to visitors during regular hours of operation, which are from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. every day of the week, and will stay through March 28, 2016. Mini-DIGIE is a smaller, portable version of the permanent Digital Wall located at the El Paso Museum of History. DIGIE stands for Digital Information Gateway In El Paso, and it is a vast, interactive collection of images and videos displayed on a touch-sensitive TV screen. The digital media interpret the El Paso region through time, neighborhoods and themes. "When visitors to Chamizal can see the landmarks that relate to our story, it helps them connect to our history. In the same way, Mini-DIGIE makes El Paso history personal by visually connecting stories to the places we see all around us," said Superintendent Sánchez.
When you visit Mini-DIGIE, you can use your fingertips to move through the 3-D City, or tap on a specific image to read information about it and to find related images. You can write about your experience on the Guestbook or add your own comment to any image you see. You can visit www.digie.org to upload your own photos, current or historic, and to find more information about DIGIE.
Come explore with Mini-DIGIE and share a digital postcard from Chamizal National Memorial, or upload photos of your visit to the park. For questions, contact Gina Hernández at (915) 532-7273 x129 or e-mail us.
