Operating Hours & Seasons

Cedar Breaks National Monument is open every day of the year and visitors can enter the park at anytime. Winter weather dictates when roads & most visitor facilities open and close. To see what is currently open and available at Cedar Breaks, please visit our Current Conditions Page.

2018 Free Admission Days

Come experience the national parks! On four days in 2018, all National Park Service sites that charge an entrance fee will offer free admission to everyone. Mark your calendar for these entrance fee–free dates in 2018:

  • January 15: Martin Luther King Jr. Day

  • April 21: First day of National Park Week

  • September 22: National Public Lands Day

  • November 11: Veterans Day

Summer & Fall Seasons: Late May to Mid-October

  • Information Center and restrooms: Open daily 9am - 6pm.

  • Scenic Drive (Utah Highway 148): Open from late May until the first heavy snowfall, usually in mid-November.

  • Point Supreme Campground: Open mid-June to late September.

  • Ranger Programs: For a schedule of ranger talks, guided hikes and evening campground. programs, please check at the fee booth or visitor center.

Winter Season: Mid-October to late May

Snow begins accumulating in substantial amounts anywhere from late October to early December and typically remains through late May and early June. Always plan and prepare alternate routes in case of inclement weather. Winter recreational activities begin once there is sufficient snow depth for cross-country ski, snowshoe, and snowmobile trails.
