Thurmont, Md. – Catoctin Mountain Park will conduct road work beginning on Monday, July 21. The work will address serious deficiencies on Foxville Deerfield Road and Park Central Road. It is expected to continue through the end of October with full road closures in place for periods of time.

Foxville Deerfield Road will be closed for approximately four weeks starting on or around July 21. During this time, motorists traveling through the park will have to use an alternate route. Owens Creek Campground will remain open and accessible from either end of Foxville Deerfield Road.

Work on Park Central Road will begin in August. One lane of travel will remain open through most of the work. However, the road will be closed to through traffic for approximately three weeks in late September and early October. The park Visitor Center, parking lots, and cabin camps will remain open.

Specific timelines and closure information will be posted and updated on the park’s website at www.nps.gov/cato.
