TEACHERS ARCHEOLOGY WORKSHOP AT CAPITOL REEF NATIONAL PARK IN MAY

Intrigue of the Past, a workshop to assist in teaching archeology and conservation, will be held at Capitol Reef National Park on Friday and Saturday, May 18 and 19, 2007.

Workshop participants will experience hands-on classroom activities for students in grades four through seven and will receive an activity guide containing 34 lessons. The program, developed by the Utah Interagency Task Force on Cultural Resources, will be conducted by Ephriam Dickson from the Utah Museum of Natural History.

Use of workshop materials will complement classroom curriculum, enrich students’ educations, and help to conserve our valuable archeological heritage. The workshop costs $25, with an accreditation option available for an additional fee. Registration must be completed by April 30; the workshop is limited to 20 participants. More information is available by calling Cindy Micheli, Education Outreach Coordinator at Capitol Reef National Park at 435/425-3791 extension 112.
