Capitol Reef National Park’s Visitor Center commenced summer hours. The Visitor Center will open daily at 8 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. The Capitol Reef Visitor Center features interpretive exhibits, an introductory media presentation shown upon request, and sale of interpretive materials through the park’s cooperating association, the Capitol Reef Natural History Association. The Ripple Rock Nature Center is open Memorial Day weekend through June 30 from 12 noon to 5 pm; and from 10 am to 3 pm from July 1 through Labor Day weekend, Tuesdays through Saturdays (closed Sundays and Mondays). The Nature Center offers a variety of hands-on learning activities for children and families. The Historic Gifford Farmhouse is open daily from 8 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Part museum, part country store, the Gifford House sells homemade fruit pies, fresh-baked breads, old-fashioned soda pop and ice cream along with pioneer handicrafts.
