Contact: Visitor Center, 435-425-3791 The Capitol Reef National Park Visitor Center will be open 8:00 am to 5:00 pm daily starting Tuesday March 22, 2016. Winter visitor center hours of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm are generally from October to March each year. The park itself is open continuously. The historic Gifford House, located 1 mile (1.6 km) south of the visitor center on Scenic Drive, will be open 8:00 am to 5:00 pm daily starting Monday, March 14, 2016. The Gifford House, operated by the Capitol Reef Natural History Association, has pioneer history information on display and sells fresh pies (pies will be sold for $3.14 on Pi day, March 14), baked goods, and pioneer-era crafts and items. Special programming Easter Weekend will kick off the National Park Service Centennial year at Capitol Reef National Park, followed by a week of ranger programs during National Park Week, April 18 –26, 2016.Regular programming will resume for the summer season in May, 2016. |
