Arts as Inspiration

Artists have had a connection to America's natural areas for generations. Their work has revealed the wonders of these areas. Visitors to Canyonlands National Park can experience the arts and their connection to the natural world in a variety of ways.

Community Artist in the Parks

The parks in the Southeast Utah Group (Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, Hovenweep National Monument, and Natural Bridges National Monument) have hosted a community artist from local counties each year since 2009. The community artist produces works of art in these parks and helps visitors connect to these natural and cultural areas through the arts. Read more about the Community Artist program.
