Nesting Loggerhead during Turtle Watch

Turtle Watch Reservations:
Every year in the months of June and July visitors are able to take a guided tour to view a sea turtle lay her eggs. This is an excellent opportunity to sea a sea turtle in her natural environment. Turtle watch programs are given throughout the state during the summer. The program is available 3-4 nights per week. The cost is $14 per person 16 years or older. Kids under 16 years old are free. These tours are given in both Apollo Beach and Playalinda Beach. All reservations are made through the Apollo Visitor Center. 2018 reservation dates & the phone number extention to call will be published here when available. June turtle watch reservations are taken in mid-May, and July turtle watch reservations are taken in mid-June. For more information please call our visitor center at 386-428-3384 ext. 0.


Backcountry Camping

Canaveral National Seashore has 14 backcountry island camping sites. Visitors can use their own flats boat, pontoon, canoe or kayak to access designated campsites. Camping is available by reservation only. Campsite reservations can be made for $20 per night and up to six months in advance. Canoe rentals are available (weather permitting) for campsites #1 - #5 only. Canoe rentals are $25 per night for individuals 18 years and older. Canoe capacity is two adults per canoe, plus gear.
