2014 Rennovation Work

Casa Grande Ruins National Monument is upgrading the air conditioning and electrical systems in the visitor center, but will continue to remain open during construction. Beginning April 1st, 2014 the visitor center will be closed for approximately 90 days with an anticipated re-opening around July 1st, 2014.

During construction, no entrance fees will be collected and the museum will not be available. The suspension of fee collecting activities also includes suspending the sale or issuing of America the Beautiful Passes (Senior, Access, Annual, Military).

Casa Grande Ruin's theater auditorium will remain open during construction. The theater has seating and air conditioning. The park film will continue to be shown in the theater and rangers will be available for tours and questions.

Western National Park's bookstore will be temporarily relocated to the monument's administrative offices and will be open during business hours.

Construction includes upgrading systems to Casa Grande Ruin's 1931 visitor center including a heating ventilation and air conditioning system and electrical replacement.

If you are planning a group or school visit during the time the visitor center is closed, please contact the park to schedule additional accommodations.

Access to the Great House, Compound A, and the picnic area is available and free to the public until the end of June.
