News Release Date: October 29, 2013 “Take a Wildlife Hike” is a ranger-led, 1.4 mile hike through the edge of the woods and the salt marsh. The program will focus on upland wildlife such as deer, and will teach scouts how to look for tracks and other animal signs like scat. Scouts will make the connection that a diversity of habitats is good for many species of animals such as deer, foxes, and coyotes, and that the salt marsh has many sources of food that these animals can eat. If the weather is inclement an indoor wildlife program will be provided. Reservations are required. Scout and youth group leaders can make reservations for their group by calling 508-255-3421 x 16 or emailing jonathan_way@nps.gov. ###
