WELLFLEET, Mass– Cape Cod National Seashore Superintendent Brian Carlstrom will host a “Seashore Soundings” program on Thursday, October 20 at 6:00 pm at Salt Pond Visitor Center in Eastham. The program is free, accessible, and open to the public.
During the program, Superintendent Carlstrom will highlight many of the events that were accomplished in 2022, including the restoration of regular park operations following the COVID-19 pandemic, the completed Nauset Light Beach Bathhouse project and Highland Light restoration project, the expansion of park partnerships, updates to the ORV corridor and the park’s Shorebird Management Plan, and the status of the park’s Federal Advisory Commission.
Superintendent Carlstrom will also look ahead to 2023 and provide plans and updates on the Herring River Restoration project; continued collaboration with the White Shark Working Group to help reduce public risk related to white sharks; rehabilitation of the Beech Forest Trail and Small’s Swamp Trail boardwalks; and other upcoming park projects. There will be time for questions and answers following the presentation.
