Cape Cod National Seashore Superintendent George Price has announced that the small bridge along the Nauset Marsh Trail in Eastham will be replaced, and that section of trail will be temporarily closed. The closure will begin right after Labor Day, and is expected to last approximately two weeks, until the bridge replacement has been completed.

The Nauset Marsh Trail, a loop which begins and ends just behind the Salt Pond Visitor Center, is one of the most popular nature trails within the national seashore. The bridge to be replaced is the second along the trail; the first, a low boardwalk over a muddy section of trail, was replaced earlier this summer. The work will be done by park staff.

Project updates will be posted on the park's website at www.nps.gov/caco. Visitors are also encouraged to ask staff at the Salt Pond Visitor Center about current conditions and possible detours.
