Cape Cod National Seashore to host artist Jennifer Moller’s “Pools, Mighty Plenitude” Photography Exhibit in December

During the month of December, Cape Cod National Seashore will exhibit photographs from artist Jennifer Moller as part of its Perspectives: Seeing Cape Cod National Seashore through Art series. Jennifer has created a body of work that represents the passage of time, the resiliency of nature, and the transformational beauty of kettle pools. She uses film photography and scanning to make 40”x40” digital archival prints.
 
Moller is an awarding wining media artist, photographer, and arts educator. She has created several public video installations, including "seas," which is in the private collection of the Hood Museum in Dartmouth, Massachusetts. Her photography and videos have been exhibited nationally and she curated several video/media festivals at the Provincetown Art Association and Museum on Cape Cod. She has taught at the Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University, New England School of Photography, and The Santa Fe Media Workshops. In 2010 she was invited to teach as a visiting artist at the Institute of American Indian Art in Santa Fe. She currently resides on the Cape and in Boston, and she teaches digital design at University of Massachusetts at Lowell. She is represented by Cynthia Reeves Gallery. 
 
Moller says “The camera is a tool for marking time, and six years is a short period in the lives of ancient kettle holes. I am watching this natural interconnectedness and taking it for evidence of how the spiritual world permeates the mundane. The dynamic weather and moving tides contrast with these persistent forms, and this beautiful interplay has moved me to record these pools over the course of many years. My director and collaborator is nature.”
 
Meet the artist during a reception with refreshments on Saturday, December 10, from 2 to 4 PM in the exhibit room at the Salt Pond Visitor Center.
