WELLFLEET, Mass.– Cape Cod National Seashore is thrilled to celebrate the history of Bound Brook Island on Friday, June 30, 2023. Join park staff as they explore the historic Atwood-Higgins and Baker-Biddle properties in Wellfleet to learn about the stories of the past. This free event will be held 10 am–2 pm, beginning at the Atwood-Higgins property, located at 269 Bound Brook Island Rd, Wellfleet, MA.
The festivities kick off the night before, on Thursday, June 29, as the park hosts Sharon Dunn, author and poet of the book, An Island in Time: Wellfleet's Bound Brook Island, from 7-8 pm at Salt Pond Visitor Center’s indoor auditorium. Doors for the program open at 6:30 pm.
The celebration continues into Friday, where tours of the Atwood-Higgins and Baker-Biddle homes will be held hourly, beginning at 10 am. A self-guided scavenger hunt, as well as staff and volunteers, will be on hand to help explore the wonders and history of Bound Brook Island.All events are free and open to the public. The Atwood-Higgins and Baker-Biddle properties are both located in Wellfleet, MA.
