News Release Date: December 4, 2009 Cape Cod National Seashore Superintendent George Price has announced that the next meeting of the re-established Dune Shack Subcommittee of the Cape Cod National Seashore Advisory Commission will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2009, from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM in the library of the Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies, 5 Holway Avenue, Provincetown. The subcommittee’s task is to develop a set of recommendations to the Cape Cod National Seashore’s Advisory Commission on the establishment of a Dune Shack District Preservation and Use Plan/Environmental Assessment. The dune shack historic district is located in the national seashore along the backshore of Provincetown and Truro. This meeting will include a discussion of the shacks and their histories, current uses, key topics for the preservation and use plan, and the subcommittee work plan.
