Meeting Scheduled for Cape Cod National Seashore Advisory Commission Dune Shack Subcommittee - February 11

Cape Cod National Seashore Superintendent George Price has announced that the next meeting of the Dune Shack Subcommittee of the Cape Cod National Seashore Advisory Commission will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2010 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies, 5 Holway Avenue, Provincetown.

The subcommittee’s task is to develop a set of recommendations to the Cape Cod National Seashore’s Advisory Commission on the establishment of a Dune Shack District Preservation and Use Plan/Environmental Assessment. The dune shack historic district is located in the national seashore along the backshore of Provincetown and Truro. At this meeting the subcommittee will discuss building construction guidelines, long-term uses, and defining characteristics of the buildings. A short public comment period will be provided.
