Cape Cod National Seashore Superintendent George E. Price, Jr., announces that during the week of March 30 through April 3, April 6, and April 28 through 30, 2009, Marconi Beach Road will be closed for resurfacing from 7 AM to 3 PM. Special funding has become available to repair potholes and resurface the road. The work is scheduled to be completed before the increase of summer visitation. Chief of Facilities Karst Hoogeboom stated that it is never a good time to close a road to a popular area such as Marconi Beach and apologized for any inconvenience. “This is a good opportunity to have the work done and should be a great benefit to those visiting the area this summer”, said Hoogeboom. By closing the road during working hours, the total time to complete the project will be reduced. The road will be open after 3 PM and on weekends during the work period. Efforts will be taken to minimize visitor inconvenience. ###
