WELLFLEET, Mass. – Artist John Myjak’s painted woodwork is featured at Cape Cod National Seashore’s Salt Pond Visitor Center for the month of February. The exhibit is part of the seashore’s ongoing series -Perspectives: Seeing Cape Cod National Seashore Through Art.Myjak’s Creatures Great and Small features beautiful renderings of wildlife found at Cape Cod National Seashore. Myjak first found inspiration to create during his upbringing in the great outdoors, hunting and fishing around the small farm he grew up on in Rockfall, Connecticut. He taught art in the Middletown School System for 35 years.
In 1998, Myjak and his wife, Lynda, moved to Cape Cod, where they have resided ever since. Mr. Myjak was employed by the national seashore for 15 years, a job he considers one of the best he’s ever had. The pieces in his exhibit were influenced by the wildlife and natural settings he saw each day while on the job.
A reception with the artist will be held on Saturday, February 16 from 1 to 3 pm at Salt Pond Visitor Center.
