National Seashore to Host Family Activities During February Vacation

WELLFLEET, Mass. – Several activities are on tap for seashore neighbors and visitors during the upcoming vacation week from February 16 through 24. Many activities are geared toward families. All activities are free, wheelchair-accessible, and held at Salt Pond Visitor Center in Eastham. 

Explore and Learn tables are available from 10 am to 3 pm daily from February 16 through 23. The topics of these hands-on, self-directed activities range from seals and shells, to butterflies and horseshoe crabs.  

Movies will be shown on the following dates at 1:30 pm on the theater-size screen with surround sound: 
2/17: March of the Penguins (sponsored by Friends of the Cape Cod National Seashore)
2/18: Disneynature’s Earth
2/19: Fly Away Home
2/24: Moby Dick (sponsored by Friends of the Cape Cod National Seashore)

Wildlife art by John Myjak will be on display throughout the month, and a reception with the artist will be held on February 16 from 1 to 3 pm.

The center is open daily from 9 am to 4:30 pm, with staff to assist with activity planning. Visit the museum, view the new park film, enjoy panoramic views of Salt Pond and Nauset Marsh, and shop in the gift and bookstore featuring national seashore-related items.
