Superintendent George Price announced that Far Land Provisions of Provincetown has been selected as the new Herring Cove Bathhouse concessioner.Far Land Provisions submitted their proposal for a three year term to the National Park Service regional office based upon an open RFQ process which ended on May 28, 2013. Superintendent Price said that the staff was pleased with the concession advertisement process and is very pleased that a respected, professional local business was interested in operating the new facility and looks forward to a productive relationship.Price also wanted to express his gratitude for the long-time contribution by Chuck Silva and his family who previously operated the concession stand for many years. Jim Farley and Tom Boland of Far Land Provisions stated, "We are ready to bring to the Cape Cod National Seashore a brand new Herring Cove Beach concession that will reflect the commitment of The National Park Service and the recent launch of its Healthy and Sustainable Food Movement. We ourselves are committed to making this new facility the best it can possibly be by serving great food, utilizing our most talented resources and following the Guidelines set forth by the NPS." The national seashore staff is planning an opening event the afternoon of July 11, 2013 sponsored by Far Land Provisions, the Friends of Cape Cod National Seashore and Eastern National, which operates the museum stores in the seashore visitor centers. |
