Cape Cod National Seashore Superintendent George Price has announced that pavement improvements to several park roads will begin in March 2017. Marconi Site Road, at the Marconi area in Wellfleet, will be closed for pavement removal on Monday, March 20, with new pavement being installed in early April.

Other park areas scheduled for improvements include the Little Creek tram shuttle parking area in Eastham, Province Lands Visitor Center parking lot in Provincetown, and the parking lot at Coast Guard Beach in Eastham.   Work includes removal of existing pavement, adding structural material where needed, new pavement, curb stops, and pavement markings.

This work is part of a larger $2.3 million contract, Federal Highway funded, with Call Associates of Buffalo, NY, for pavement improvements in the park. The contractor will sequence work to allow for the greatest continued public access to park facilities as possible. There will be periodic temporary closures as work progresses. Work is scheduled to be completed for the summer visitation season.
