Have you ever wondered why birds have feathers, or how they build their nests?Henry Lappen's program "A Passion for Birds" is a fun way to learn the answers to these questions and more.Join Henry for a free, one-hour presentation that uses masks to showcase birds and their adaptations. Two programs will be offered on Tuesday, August 7, one at 3 PM at Province Lands Visitor Center in Provincetown, and one at 7 PM at Salt Pond Visitor Center in Eastham. Henry Lappen has been performing comic juggling for over 25 years and has been an avid student of nature since childhood.Henry is a graduate of California's Dell'Arte School of Physical Comedy, where he studied mime, mask, and clowning."A Passion for Birds" uses masks to inspire an appreciation and understanding of the avian world.Captivated by Lappen's beautiful masks and comic portrayal of birds, participants learn how animals adapt to their environment, and why they look and act the way they do. This program is part of the annual "Tuesday Evening Series" at Salt Pond Visitor Center in Eastham. Held weekly at 7 PM in July and August in the air-cooled comfort of the visitor center auditorium, programs focus on the diverse natural and cultural resources on the Outer Cape and are suitable for all ages. Programs are free of charge and accessible. The series is sponsored by the Friends of the Cape Cod National Seashore.
