Throughout the month of October, a unique selection of woven art will be on display at the Salt Pond Visitor Center in Eastham. The exhibition is presented by the Weavers' Network, a group of local weavers that includes both professional fiber artists as well as enthusiastic novices. They gather regularly for "inspiration, encouragement, and food," says one of the group's artists, Sue Pellowe. The weavings on display range from the very small to those that are large and even sculptural in design. All of the pieces have been inspired by, or represent the broad natural and cultural themes associated with Cape Cod National Seashore. There are tapestries that depict representative scenes, and three-dimensional pieces that incorporate wild, natural materials. Even the basic skill of weaving relates to the region's early American themes, as it has its roots in textile production and was an early trade practiced locally across Cape Cod.

The Weavers' Network has exhibited previously at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History and the Brewster's Ladies Library. The network's exhibit, America the Beautiful, was exhibited at the State House in Boston in 2010.
