Cape Cod National Seashore’s Safety Officer Receives Two Awards

Superintendent George Price announces that Nicole Taylor, Safety and Environmental Officer at Cape Cod National Seashore, has been recognized by her peers and been presented with two major awards.  

Taylor was awarded the National Park Service (NPS) Northeast Region Safety Award. As one of the key members of the Northeast Safety Council, she prepares and distributes nationally the Safety Minute which she developed and instituted at the seashore; facilitates Operational Leadership and other safety training programs; and visits other NPS units who rely on her to review safety programs, work with the staff, and conduct safety and health audits.  Nicole also supports Superintendent George Price's role on the National Safety Leadership Council, for which he represents the Northeast Region.

Price said, "Nicole is one of the best Safety and Environmental Officers in the National Park Service.She has the ability to approach each situation with calm professionalism which adds to her credibility. Employees from all our workgroups and contractors have benefited from her expertise to keep employees and visitors safe.Nicole has been an invaluable resource to national park units throughout our region and she should be proud of her accomplishments."

Taylor, a resident of Brewster, was also selected by the National Safety Council as a national Rising Star of Safety.  She was nominated by Regional and Washington offices to represent the National Park Service.  This national award recognizes individuals younger than 40 who stand out in the safety field by displaying creative and innovative ideas.
