In an exciting new effort to communicate about natural resource science at Cape Cod National Seashore, the Atlantic Research Center (ARC) will host its first "Science in the Seashore Research Symposium." Wednesday, August 17, from 1 to 4:30 PM. Open to the public, this free event will feature 10 oral presentations by individuals conducting scientific research at Cape Cod National Seashore. Speakers will include scientists from government and academia.Topics will span the disciplines associated with management-driven natural resource science including plant and wildlife ecology, geology, and the marine sciences.The conference will provide a brisk, half-day of talks intended to generate an environment engaging for researchers and members of the public alike.Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of Cape Cod National Seashore.

The Atlantic Research Center at Cape Cod National Seashore is one of 24 Research Learning Centers administered by the National Park Service.The Research Learning Center programs are designed to facilitate scientific research in national parks and to provide outreach opportunities to communicate research results to interested audiences.

If you go: Directions to the ARC Classroom: Take Route 6 to the Highland Light exit in North Truro. Go east on

Highland Road . At the end, take a right onto South Highland Road . After approximately 0.6 miles, take a left onto Old Dewline Rd. The Highlands Center is at the end of the road, the classroom is the third building on the right, #43 Old Dewline Road, Truro.
