Cape Cod Marconi Radio Club Event - Marconi Still Sparking at Cape Cod National Seashore

KM1CC, the Cape Cod Marconi Club will operate on January 17 and 18, 2009 to commemorate Marconi’s first transatlantic message, which was sent from his Wellfleet Station to Great Britain 106 years ago. The Marconi Station Site is now part of Cape Cod National Seashore, established in 1961. KM1CC will operate from a temporary station at a National Park Service facility, the Coast Guard Station, Eastham, MA. This station is 5 miles south of the original site in grid locator FN 51. Licensed amateur radio operators are welcome to join KM1CC at the Coast Guard Station from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm on Saturday January 17, and from 8 am - 2 pm on Sunday January 18. Interested operators may call Cape Cod National Seashore Education Specialist Barbara Dougan at 508-255-3421 x 16.
