Whale Watching

Poster showing characteristics of Gray Whales

Celebration of Migration:

Please join Cabrillo National Monument in celebrating the longest mammal migration that we know of, beginning Feb 18th to March 3, 2018. During this two week period we have park staff on the lookout to point out Pacific Gray Whales for you. Currently, the Gray Whales are swimming south to the breeding lagoons in Baja California, Mexico. Our friendly park staff located at the Whale Watch Overlook also provide the visitor with whale insight and fun facts about this 12,000 mile journey. Also, our guests can partake in some whale inspired arts and crafts opportunities in our Visitor Center.

Community Presenters:
Sunday Feb 18th
9:00am to 4:30pm

We are proud to host the Living Coast Discovery Center (LCDC) and the Whalers of the Natural History Museum on Sunday. Visitors on this day have a chance to get up close to some marine organisms brought by the LCDC and hear wonderful information from the Whalers located at our Whale Watch Overlook. Please join us and enjoy our window into the Gray Whale's migratory journey.
