Bryce Canyon National Park Superintendent, Eddie Lopez, invites you to join Bryce Canyon’s Interpretive Rangers and Special Guest Paleontologists for the Second Annual Bryce Canyon Geology Festival. This year’s festival will be held on July 25 and 26, and will feature special presentations by two renowned guest speakers. Dr. Alan Titus, Paleontologist for the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, will present “Deinosuchus! Utah’s Terror Croc from the Late Cretaceous” on Friday, July 25. Dr. Jeff Bartlett, Paleontologist for the College of Eastern Utah Prehistoric Museum, will present “What’s New? The Latest Paleontological Discoveries of Utah” on Saturday, July 26. Both programs will be held at the Bryce Canyon Visitor Center Auditorium beginning at 9:00 p.m. In addition to the special evening programs, this year’s Geology Festival will also feature morning and afternoon geology and paleontology ranger programs. Programs include: a Geology Hike into Bryce Amphitheater, a Dinosaur Program for Kids, Fossil Casting for Kids, and twice-daily Geology Talks. For program locations and times, ask at the Visitor Center for a Ranger Program Schedule. Attendance is free to all Bryce Canyon Geology Festival programs with payment of the park entrance fee: $25 per car, good for 7 days. Throughout the festival, the Bryce Canyon Shuttle will provide free transportation to and from program venues within the park. Free shuttles run daily from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Join us as we explore and celebrate the geologic and paleontological wonders of our planet. Hope to see you there! |
