International Dark Sky AssociationIn August of 2019, the National Park Service and the International Dark-Sky Association announced Bryce Canyon National Park as an International Dark Sky Park. This certification recognizes the exceptional quality of the park’s night skies and provides added opportunities to enhance visitor experiences through astronomy-based interpretive programming. Southern Utah UniversityEvery five years, Bryce Canyon National Park and Southern Utah University (SUU) renew the Alliance for Education, the purpose of which is to:
Through the alliance the two organizations have conducted research, created transformational learning programs and engaged students through conservation crews and internships. The Lodge at Bryce Canyon and Ruby's InnBoth the Lodge at Bryce Canyon and Ruby's Inn participate in the $1 Donation Program. Through this program, hotel guests can donate a dollar to the park each night of their visit. Since 2004 over $900,000 has been contributed to fund seasonal employees and visitor services. |
